In this context, the SCF’s Technical Assistance facility has approved funds for a feasibility study to assess a new Battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model, enhanced by advanced battery data analytics. This model will help e-mobility companies in Africa, including Rwanda to scale-up electric motorcycles with battery swapping.

The SCF is considering a potential investment opportunity relating to the production of insect protein in Rwanda, including a commercial rearing and processing facility for Black Solider Fly (BSF).
In this context, the SCF’s Technical Assistance facility has approved funding to conduct a waste assessment and characterization study to characterise, map and design the supply chains across the various sources of waste feedstock in Rwanda. The SCF is considering a potential investment opportunity relating to the expansion to an existing waste processing plant in Cape Town, South Africa, comprising a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), RDF production and a Waste-to-Energy plant to produce heat and power.
The SCF’s Technical Assistance Facility is commissioning various feasibility studies to support the company in the areas of economic and technical assessment, waste characterization, logistics, and geotechnical investigations and is calling for proposals from qualified consultants in these areas.

Black soldier fly (BSF) is an interesting organic waste treatment method due to the high waste reduction potential while producing marketable high value products.
